A simple component, a transparent idea, and maybe a small movement.

After a long time of thinking, refining, and quietly obsessing over it —
trustthe.dev is now out in the open.
What started as a simple footer component — just a version number and a link to humans.txt
— slowly became something more. Something about visibility, about ownership, about saying:
“Hey. A human made this. Here’s who. Here’s how. Here’s why.”
Why?
As developers, we leave traces everywhere:
Commits, changelogs, issues, build hashes, styles, bugs.
But we rarely sign our work.
trustthe.dev is a small attempt to change that — a minimal UI component that carries versioning, author metadata, and a link to the open humans.txt
. It’s also a conversation starter about developer visibility and project legibility.
What?
It’s just a component.
But it comes with a mindset.
You can install it via shadcn/ui
CLI:
npx shadcn@latest add https://trustthe.dev/r/version.json
